OUR MISSION
TO PRESERVE OUR ITALIAN CULTURE AND HERITAGE
benvenuti!
The Kelowna Canadian-Italian Club is the social and cultural centre of the Italian community in Kelowna. As friends, we carry on our cultural traditions by promoting the Italian language and culture, through food, music, and wine.
The Kelowna Canadian Italian Club was founded in 1966 by twenty-one proud members and the Constitution was formed in March 22, 1966.
We are a social and service club, giving back to the community, through the unselfish dedication of our members.
The membership has worked together planning many fundraising projects and events over the years. In 1998 a dream of owning our own Clubhouse became a reality. A small heritage building at 770 Lawrence Avenue was purchased and is operated and managed by the KCIC. For many years, we have excelled in providing service to our community, through our Italian heritage. In friendship we have been given the opportunity to serve and strengthen our community.

ABOUT OUR CLUB
A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY SINCE 1966
KCIC was started in 1966 and has been an active part of the Kelowna community for 55 years.
While the club was formed as a support and heritage group for the Italian community, it has always been involved with local activities and has contributed to many local charities. Community events that KCIC is involved with today include Folkfest, COBBS Bursary Program, Lake of the Lake and dinner raffles that support local charities.
KCIC is proud to support local charities and programs that make a difference in the lives of residents of our community. In 2019, our monthly club dinner raffles contributed $2,850 to local charities, including the Salvation Army, St. Vincent de Paul Society, BC Cancer Foundation, KGH Foundation – Pediatrics, Variety Club Kelowna and Central Okanagan Hospice Society. We thank our members for their participation in raising the money for these worthwhile causes.
At our New Year’s Eve Party, gifts were generously donated by local businesses and our guests participated by purchasing raffle tickets. The proceeds from this raffle were presented to JoeAnna’s House in February. The $1500 raised will go toward the ongoing operations of this local project. JoeAnna’s house is part of the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation and provides an away-home to keep families together when they need it most. KCIC is planning to increase our community participation and profile over the next several years.
