The KCIC is excited to welcome and introduce Miss Angelina Agostino as our Miss KCIC 2024.

Spring Tea  May 7th
Originally known as the Historical Tea, each candidate would present a small speech about a historical topic in Kelowna. Now the event has evolved into the Spring Presentation where a new topic is chosen each year and the candidates give a short, judged speech on the topic. A few from recent years are: Prominent Female Leaders in Kelowna, A weekend in the Okanagan, International Customs and Culture and events in Kelowna.

Here are the events planned for the next few months of the Lady of the Lake Program.  Should you wish to attend, please contact Rosann Nanci [email protected] for tickets.

Speech and Talent Night  June 4th @ 7:00pm
Evangel Church (3261 Gordon Drive)
Tickets are $20.00

This evening provides a better opportunity to get to know the candidates. Each candidate is judged on a long speech of a topic of their choosing, along with  one of their talents. Everyone has a talent and we love to see what each girl comes up with. We have seen everything from dance, speed painting, field hockey, henna, baking and more!

Gala
July 12/13 @ 7:00pm
A can’t miss event! This is the final event in our candidates’ journey, where our program comes to an end and our new city ambassadors are chosen. Our candidates give a gown presentation and answer an impromptu speech question. Along with selecting our new city ambassadors, several awards are given out with scholarships attached

THE MISS KELOWNA LADY OF THE LAKE LEADERSHIP EXCELLENCE PROGRAM
MORE ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
The Miss Kelowna Lady of the Lake Leadership Excellence Program is a youth ambassador training program with six months of weekly training sessions from January to July. The cost of our program is completely free as community sponsors pay for each candidate.
The training has several areas of focus such as:
●     Public speaking (Toastmaster’s)
●     Car maintenance
●     Building self-confidence
●     Nutrition
●     Budgeting
●     Self defense
●     Networking
●     Area knowledge and Okanagan tourism
●     Time management
●     And so much more!
During the six months, the candidates participate in various volunteer events across the community, usually accompanied by the current Ambassador team. The candidates also have multiple judged events throughout their candidacy, which include the Spring Tea, the Fashion Show, the Speech and Talent Night, and the Pageant.
Our program also offers a variety of Scholarships and Awards to help with Post-Secondary Education for the recipient. Our awards are anywhere from $250-$1000.
After being crowned, Miss Kelowna has the possibility of going to our sister city, Kasugai, Japan and represent Kelowna!
As a Miss Kelowna Lady of the Lake candidate, you will obtain skills that will help you succeed in many aspects of life. The growth you and others around you will see throughout the training process will astound you! Our society aims to mentor young women of Kelowna, enable them to learn new skills, and empower their leadership.
