Meet our instructor - silvia
Silvia is a passionate Italian language instructor with a deep love for her native language and culture. Born and raised in Italy, Silvia brings an authentic and immersive experience to her teaching, helping students not just learn the language but truly connect with Italian culture. In 2013, Silvia made the exciting move from Italy to Canada, where she has since been dedicated to sharing her heritage with others.
With a Master’s Degree in Translation from the University of Genoa, Silvia has a strong academic foundation in languages. Her teaching style is friendly and engaging, focusing on real-world communication and cultural insights that make learning Italian both fun and practical. Her multilingual skills and firsthand experience as an immigrant enrich her teaching, offering students a unique perspective on language learning.

OUR winter 2025 SESSION
Online classes in the comfort of your own home.
- We offer all levels from Beginner - Advanced.
- Each session is (10) 1-hour classes.
- Seats are sold on first come first served basis.
- The classes are developed for adults. Sorry, we do not have children's classes at this time.
- Registration is NON-REFUNDABLE, however it is transferable.
- Online sessions are on the Zoom platform.
- Classes are limited to 10 students per class. We require a minimum of 5 students in order to proceed with a class.
- There are no manuals or workbooks required to take the classes.

CLASS 1 - Italian Foundations (Absolute Beginners)
Date: Tuesday, January 28, 2025 - Tuesday, April 1, 2025
Time: 6:00pm - 7:00pm
This course is tailored for individuals with no prior knowledge of Italian. Students will begin by mastering
essential phrases, greetings, and basic vocabulary to navigate everyday situations. The course focuses on
the fundamental building blocks of Italian grammar, enabling learners to construct simple sentences and
engage in basic conversations. Emphasis is placed on pronunciation and listening skills to develop a
strong linguistic foundation and boost confidence in speaking Italian.
CLASS 2 - Italian Essentials (Elementary Level)
Date: Tuesday, January 28, 2025 - Tuesday, April 1, 2025
Time: 7:15pm - 8:15pm
Ideal for those with some prior exposure to Italian, this course is designed to enhance foundational skills.
Students will learn to describe themselves and their surroundings, handle common scenarios such as
ordering food and shopping, and manage basic social interactions. Grammar instruction will cover
present tense verbs, articles, and prepositions, while vocabulary expansion will focus on practical
themes. Interactive activities foster speaking and listening proficiency, preparing students to confidently
engage in everyday conversations.
CLASS 3 - Italian Progression (Intermediate Level)
Date: Thursday, January 30, 2025 - Thursday, April 3, 2025
Time: 6:00pm - 7:00pm
This course is perfect for learners who can handle daily interactions in Italian but need support to
express themselves with greater clarity and accuracy. Students will refine their grammar knowledge,
including the use of past and future tenses, and expand their vocabulary for more nuanced
communication. Role-playing and conversational practice will build confidence in expressing opinions,
discussing personal experiences, and navigating a wider range of situations. The course also introduces
idiomatic expressions and cultural references to deepen understanding of authentic Italian usage.
CLASS 4 - Italian Fluency (Advanced Level)
Date: Thursday, January 30, 2025 - Thursday, April 3 2025
Time: 7:15pm - 8:15pm
Designed for advanced learners aiming to maintain and enhance their language skills, this course
provides opportunities to practice complex grammar structures, such as the subjunctive mood and
hypothetical phrases. Students will engage in discussions on contemporary topics, advanced idiomatic
expressions, and sophisticated writing tasks. The curriculum includes exploration of Italian culture
through literature, film, and current events, offering an immersive experience that sharpens fluency and
fosters linguistic precision.
