KCIC Ferragosto Family Picnic

Ferragosto is a national holiday in Italy, and it is celebrated on August 15. Ferragosto celebrates the middle of the Italian summer and marks the unofficial start to Italy's summer holiday season. KCIC is excited to bring this OUTDOOR celebration to its members so that families can enjoy some quality time together. KCIC will be offering this event FREE OF CHARGE (see details below) to all KCIC Members. It is important to note that THERE IS NO ALCOHOL PERMITTED ON CITY OF KELOWNA PROPERTY. Along with our Bocce Lanes (sorry no organized tournament at the picnic), there will be several outdoor games and activities, so KIDS ARE WELCOME! There will be ribbons to be won for games and contests, so be prepared to come have some fun! Anywhere there are Italians, food and friendly competition, it is bound to be adventure, so don’t miss out and reserve your spot! Food Provided: KCIC will be providing all pre-registered KCIC Members and pre-paid guests with a sausage on a bun, fruit, water and pop. KCIC will also be providing plastic plates and cutlery. Items to Bring: · Picnic lunch for your family · Folding/camping chairs (if required). Seating is limited. · Picnic blankets · Sunshade and/or sunscreen · Proper footwear (for games). KCIC will have some seating available and it will be on a first come first served bases. Therefore, if you are unable to sit on the grass or stand, please ensure you make the necessary arrangements to bring seating options for you and your family. Please come prepared to have a picnic! IMPORTANT NOTE: This event takes a lot of organization by the KCIC and our volunteers. There are associated costs with the pre-planning of this event such as the purchasing of food, which is based on the number of confirmed attendees. In order to ensure we continue with this Family Picnic, and continue to build on its success, it is important that you come and support our event. If you reserved a spot to attend, please come, and if for any reason you are unable to, please notify us in advance. Last year we encountered a lot of food waste due to this very issue and it was very disappointing to see. Let’s ensure this doesn’t happen again this year.
