Join us for the Kelowna Canadian Italian Club's Annual Ferragosto Family Picnic — a beloved tradition dating all the way back to the founding of the first KCIC in 1936!
Location: Parkinson Recreation Centre Bocce Lanes (under the beautiful grape vines)
Date: Sunday, August 10 (11:00pm – 4:00pm)
Gates Open: 11:00pm
Lunch Served At: 12:00pm
Spaghetti Eating Contest: TBA
Seating is capped at 100.
Members and non-members need to register!
This event is FREE for KCIC members, and non-members are welcome to join us for a small fee ($10 per person and children 5 and under are free). Please see below to register. You can also contact Janet @ 778-821-2121.
MEMBERS HAVE FIRST PRIORITY TO REGISTER.
Seats remaining after Sunday, July 27 will be made available to the public.
Each member household can bring 2 non-members. These non-member tickets can be purchased before Sunday, July 27.
Lunch Includes:
Italian sausage on a bun
Fresh salad
Seasonal fruit
Beverages (soda, juice & water) available for just $1each
Please note: Alcohol is not permitted on site.
We have picnic and banquet tables available, however seats are limited. Please bring a lawn chair to ensure your comfort.
Come spend the day with family and friends, enjoy the summer sun, play a game of bocce, and celebrate Ferragosto — Italian-style!

Ferragosto is a national holiday in Italy, and it is celebrated on August 15. It's a time to celebrate the middle of the Italian summer and mark the unofficial start to Italy's summer holiday season. KCIC is excited to bring this OUTDOOR celebration to its members so that families can enjoy some quality time together.
And, in what has become an annual tradition, we proved that you can eat pasta with both hands behind your back at our Pasta Eating Contest. Congratulations to all the winners. It was a perfect day to picnic under the pergola at the bocce lanes. Thanks to all who joined us. And we'll do it all again next year. See you then! |
