Kelowna Canadian Italian - IN THE NEWS...
Supporting Our Community
With the participation of our members, we have supported and contributed to the community at large. Since our inception in 1966, we have sponsored children and adult Italian language classes for members and the community. Many of our Club members have had two or three generations attend the language classes over the years.
We have proudly provided School District #23 (Central Okanagan) with a Kelowna Italian Club Bursary since 1979. This $500.00 bursary is awarded to a graduating student whose parents are Club members.
In 1977 we made our first donation to the BC Variety Club - Show of Hearts Telethon. To date, we have raised over $30,000 and the Kelowna Canadian Italian Club has their name on 16 Sunshine coaches! A donation of $1047.00 is required in order to have your name on a Sunshine coach.

A donation of $1000.00 was made to the BOAT FOR HOPE organization. Boat for Hope was created in 1999 with the mandate to share the boating experience with children who have special needs associated with Variety - The Children's Charity.
Each year, children depart from Kerry Park for an adventure on the 'high seas.' Boat owners will dress up in pirate suits, decorate their boats and take children on a treasure hunt through the waters of Okanagan Lake. The children will help navigate their course as they stop at checkpoints along the way to collect their loot!
