In 1965, several Italian gentlemen gathered in Mario’s Barber Shop in the Shops Capri Centre and formulated plans to establish the Kelowna Canadian Italian Club. On December 2, 1965, twenty-one signatures were gathered on an application to the Registrar of Socieities. The Kelowna Canadian Italian Club was granted incorporation status on March 22, 1966. These twenty-one members are the Charter Members.
The 1966 membership of the Kelowna Canadian Italian Club consisted of forty-one members. These forty-one, are the Founders and Builders of the Kelowna Canadian Italian Club. (Missing from this plaque is Florentino Grison). Together, we're pleased to honour these families this June for Italian Heritage month.

For now All stories will be on the KCIC Website. At the end of June we will print up several copies that will be available at the KCIC library for loan, at the Genealogical library downtown Kelowna Library and the Kelowna Public Archives for reference purposes. We are planning on some sort of printed versions for sale next year… in year 5 of this project.
