Formula 1: Here’s the new Ferrari

In Fiorano the curtains open and reveal the new “F1-75” built by Ferrari for Leclerc and Sainz to race in 2022.

Revealed to the public on the 17th, the F1-75 is the seventh car presented, and the name is homage to Ferrari’s 75 years in F1. The car is much different from its predecessor, the SF21, as the body is less boxy and the curves of the car have been carved smoothly, rendering the one-seater a sight for sore eyes.

The livery is (obviously) red, with black on the front and rear wing, like there is on the driver’s bodysuits. Both Sainz and Leclerc explained on social media just how impressive the car looks, and they promised good things ahead from the Scuderia.

Leclerc was particularly impressed by the variety in the car designs, explaining how he saw different interpretations of the rules reflected in all the cars, and how it is hard to tell who will be fast right now. The Monegasque is electric, “Expectations are high because we are Ferrari.”

Sainz labeled the car as aggressive and futuristic, and he let the fans know just how excited he is to drive the car and find the limits on track. Then he launched his own battlecry, “I’m not worried, no pressure.”

Team principal Mattia Binotto also spoke at the presentation, explaining how the car was built with a focus on aerodynamics, while improvements on the power unit were also made in the form of combustion efficiency. The hope is to have a competitive car to bring the Scuderia back to the top spots.
