KCIC was one of the 13 groups that organized and participated in the 2020 Heritage Week kick off event at the Kelowna Community Theatre.  Heritage dressed members (our own Don and Jane Rampone) wandered around the Stuart Park skating rink and boardwalk area passing out tickets for a free hot chocolate or apple cider.  While in the theatre lobby, they were encouraged to wander among the displays put on by the participating groups. The heritage groups displayed the projects they are conducting, made contacts and answered questions.

Groups contributing to this event were the Kelowna Canadian Italian Club, Kelowna and District Genealogical Society, Kelowna Museums, Lake Country Museum, Central Okanagan Heritage Society, Kelowna South-Central Association of Neighbourhoods, Okanagan Regional Library, Westbank Museum, Okanagan Historical Society Kelowna Branch, Kelowna Tree Protectors, Rutland Residents Association, Friends of Fintry Provincial Park Society and the Friends and Residents of the Abbott Street Heritage Conservation Area Society.
